My name is Dr. Luke Robert ("Dr. Luke") and I am thrilled to return to the great state of Georgia to carry on the exceptional care of Dr. Chrissy Scott at Dunwoody Pediatric Dentistry!  As the son of an Air Force pilot, I lived in many different places, before finally settling in Rome, GA for high school, where my parents first met.  I then graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) with a Bachelors in Biological Science.  Following undergrad I attended the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, where I met my wonderful wife, Dr. Mary Cameron Robert, neé Hampton.  I then remained in Augusta for my specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry.

My wife and I moved to Richmond, VA where I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience at a beloved, long-standing pediatric dental practice.  While we have loved our time in Richmond, Dunwoody has a special place in our hearts, as my wife grew up in Redfield, attending St. Jude Elementary and Marist School.  I am so excited to be back in Georgia, to meet all of the patients and parents, and to provide nothing but the best care to the children of Dunwoody!

I am a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD), an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), and the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry (SSPD), the Georgia Dental Association (GDA), and the Georgia Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (GAPD).

Outside of the office I love reading, cycling, playing music, and going on walks with our dog, Guinness.  I look forward to joining the local cycling groups, frequenting Valor Coffee a few doors down, and seeing all that “Funwoody” has to offer!

Scheduling Appointments

Please call our office at 770-396-4300 to request a visit.

Our office attempts to schedule appointments at times that are convenient for you.  Children 5 years old and younger should be seen in the morning because they are fresher, and we can work more slowly with the child for their comfort.  School children with a lot of work to be done should be seen in the morning for the same reason.  Dental appointments are an excused absence.  Missing school can be kept to a minimum when regular dental care is continued.

Finances

Fees incurred are due in full when services are rendered.  They are entirely the patient/parent/guarantor’s responsibility.  Payments can be made by the following options:

We accept cash, check, Mastercard or Visa at the time of service.

Dental Insurance

Your insurance company is required to pay each claim within 30 days of receipt.  We file all claims electronically so your insurance company will receive each claim within a day of the treatment.

Please understand that we file dental insurance as a courtesy to our patients.  We do not have a contract with your insurance company, only you do.  We are not responsible for how your insurance company handles its claims or for what benefits they pay on a claim.  We can only assist you in estimating your portion of the cost of treatment.  We at no time guarantee what your insurance will or will not do with each claim.

First Pediatric Dental Visit

  • When Should My Child First See A Pediatric Dentist?

In accordance with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Guidelines, we recommend that your child have their first visit to the dentist within 6 months of the eruption of their first tooth, or by 1 year old.  Whichever comes first!

We will have your child meet the dental team, see the office and become comfortable in the dental setting.  Follwing this first visit, we recommend regular 6-month checkups in order to continue to build that relationship and trust with our office.  As your child's comfort level increases we will continue to introduce further elements of a dental check-up; the prophy cleaning, fluoride treatment, and pictures (x-rays) when indicated.

Our number one goal with your child’s first dental experiences is to create the most positive experience and develop a trusting relationship!

  • Tell Me About My Child’s First Visit

We believe that a child's first visit to our dental office should be fun, educational and, most of all, make a positive impression.  This approach allows us to provide the highest level of dental health care for your child and spend as much time with you as needed to answer your questions.

We teach you and your child how to best care for their teeth, advise on eating habits and answer any specific questions you may have.  We explain how cavities are caused, what we can do to prevent them and how your children can help fight gum and tooth disease by brushing properly.

All information is provided in an age appropriate manner to help nurture and encourage your child.

  • What Can I Do To Make The First Visit A Success?

By putting your child in the proper frame of mind, you can make the first visit enjoyable and positive.  Tell your child in advance that the dentist wants to meet them.  Present this visit as a positive experience for both you and your child.

To gain your child's confidence and trust, we use child-friendly terms and simple explanations to describe dental instruments and procedures. Expect your child to react well and enjoy the visit and chances are he or she will do exactly that.

We are happy to welcome you and your child

to your First Visit with us.

Our team makes sure you have the most positive experience for both you and your child.

Please take a moment and review a few important questions and answers to help you and your child have a nurturing, educational and fun visit!

What is a Pediatric Dentist?

A Pediatric Dentist, like Dr. Luke, is a specialist dedicated to the oral health of children and the monitoring of their facial growth and development. Our office is designed for treating children from infancy through adolescence, as well as the medically and the physically compromised.

What is a Board Certified
Pediatric Dentist?

When a Pediatric Dentist is Board Certified it means that the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry or ABPD certifies that the dental care being provided is based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents and patients with special health care needs. Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a Pediatric Dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to the delivery of quality patient care.
